Texas company developed ballpark-area site with Carillon
A Texas developer that undertook the Carillon apartment building next to First Tennessee Park is underway at a large MetroCenter site on another residential project.
San Antonio-based Embrey Partners Ltd. is undertaking the 11-building development at 101 Athens Way and is eyeing a spring 2020 opening for the buildings in the first phase of the multi-phase effort. The development will be called Knox at MetroCenter.
The property sits on the southwest corner of the intersection of Athens Way and Great Circle Road and is one of the last non-developed lots in MetroCenter. Embrey recently paid a Southeast Venture entity $8 million for the 9.7-acre property, according to Metro records. Southeast is serving as the architect for the project, for which the 11 buildings will offer a collective 400 units.
Embrey also has bought an adjacent parcel from Tennessee Football LP, which owns the Tennessee Titans franchise. Embrey Builders, an Embrey Partners sister operation, is serving as the general contractor.
Brad Knolle, Embrey executive vice president, told the Post this past summer the company wants a project that can offer surface parking but also strong access to downtown Nashville.
“The Carillon development was a great success for Embrey,” Knolle said at the time. “Nashville continues to be a solid market for us and we are excited to have the opportunity to develop another Embrey community within the urban core.”
